Sometimes, we can draw strength in comforting others. I think often of the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi when I struggle.

As you are probably familiar, these are hard, hard days. No way of avoiding them as my life lurches back and forth onto more solid footing. I know that I’m doing the hard work I have to do. Although, It is a hard path to walk.

I am so very sorry for your pain. I’ve looked directly into the face of your despair, and have felt it myself.
